ECG+ seamlessly integrates with Apple Health, enhancing the capabilities of your Apple Watch ECG. It goes beyond basic analysis and calculation, providing in-depth insights into important cardiac intervals such as QT/QTc, PR, QRS, and heart rate variability (HRV).
QT/QTc measurements are crucial indicators of life-threatening arrhythmias, while HRV is widely recognized as a reliable metric for assessing physical fitness and determining overall readiness for performance.
HRV reflects the variability in the time between successive heartbeats, serving as an indicator of the health of the autonomic nervous system. On the other hand, the QT interval represents the time taken by the heart to recharge between beats, offering valuable insights into cardiac health.
Within the ECG+ app, users can access a range of features and functionalities related to their Apple Watch ECG recordings:
- HRV Trends: Track changes in your health level over time through HRV trends. An upward trend indicates improved physical fitness, while a downward trend highlights the need for closer attention to overall health. Additionally, monitor your QT intervals closely with QT trends and receive automatic alerts if a prolonged QT is detected, prompting timely healthcare intervention.
- QT Measurement and Calculation: ECG+ automatically identifies and measures QT intervals for you. Moreover, you can select from six QTc formulas to calculate QTc values accurately.
- Long QTc Warning: You can rely on the app's automatic calculation system, which alerts you to long QTc intervals that exceed the normal range. The definition of normal range depends on your gender.
- Comprehensive ECG Report: Enjoy a significantly more detailed report compared to the default Apple Health report. The ECG+ app provides R-R markings, HRV Poincaré plot, insights into six intervals, heartbeat signatures, and more. This comprehensive report offers a clearer understanding of your heart's functioning.
